Manuel Bernabe Gebin Sr., 66, of Pahoa, died Jan. 8, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on May 3, 1946, in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a retired tractor operator for Puna Sugar Company and a retired papaya worker for Alii Papaya Company. He was a member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 18 at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a 7 p.m. wake service. Visitation will continue 7 to 8 a.m. Jan. 19 at the church, with a funeral mass at 8 a.m.; burial to follow at Pahoa Catholic Church Cemetery. The family requests casual attire.

He is survived by his wife, Lita Gebin of Pahoa; daughter, Flordeliza (William Carrillo) Gebin of Colorado; son, Manuel (Jeimy) Gebin, Jr. of California; step-mother, Rita Gebin of Pahoa; sisters, Rosalind (Pablo) Martinez of Arizona and May (Edward Smithe) Gebin of Honolulu; brothers, Jeffrey (Cheyenne Handa) Gebin of Honolulu, Felipe (Feliciana) Gebin of Kona and Avelino (Violeta) Gebin of Ainaloa; two grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
